Family Photos at Storm Mountain in Salt Lake City

This family had one day to be together. One day. Mom and Dad flew in from Pennsylvania to visit and a brother was leaving with his wife for a trip to Italy the next day. This was the only day everyone would be together for a family photo for a while and for some it had been years since they had seen each other so they all met, some coming straight from the airport, at Storm Mountain Picnic Area in Salt Lake City to get that well overdue family photo. I was honored to watch and listen to the "good to see you"s and the "I've missed you, how are you"s.

This was a last minute session and I'm so glad we were able to put it together so quickly. I normally like to do a consultation with my clients so we can meet in person or on a video chat and get to know each other a bit before the session, it helps mitigate the awkwardness of having your photos taken by a stranger and helps me know exactly what you want from your photos. Because of how fast we put this shoot together, I was never able to do a video chat and I met the Anderton family for the first time when we met up at Storm Mountain for their family photos. Even though this was the first moment we were meeting, the Anderton's were so friendly and it immediately felt like I was spending time with old friends. Everyone was so kind and it was a joy to laugh and joke with the family.

From watching the way a little boy interacts with his dad (you could tell how incredibly proud he is of his hero dad) to laughing as Grandpa photo bombed a family photo, every moment with the Anderton's was a light and a joy. I am so happy that my job helps me meet so many amazing people who bring light and radiance to my life, I love making friends with my clients! I hope that you have such a great time have adventures in Utah and I'm so excited to share the rest of your photos with you, for now enjoy these ones!
