"Did you see the turkeys?" It was the first thing he said. His eyes full of excitement, his smile infectious. There had been a flock of about a hundred wild turkeys crossing the road on our way up Diamond Fork Canyon to Red Ledges and you could see the pure joy that sight brought for this couple. Tim and Ashley love to bird watch together. In Ashley's words, "We just love to enjoy the creations that God has given us!"
Their contagious joy started with those turkeys and radiated through the entire session. This was a sunrise session, meaning we started at seven in the morning and a temperature of about "I'm freezing to death over here"! It was so cold that I had to retake a couple of shots because my fingers didn't actually move enough to press the buttons on my camera! Through all of this, Tim and Ashley's smiles never left their faces. Their happiness was the bright warmth we needed to make the whole session more than worth it.
What an opportunity it was to be with these two and watch as they found joy in each other and in the simple beauty around them! I am grateful to have Tim and Ashley in my life now and to get to learn from them how to enjoy life more fully. They are already such an example of love and faith in their youth. Through all the shivers their love for each other shined in their eyes.
An extra bonus to this session is how absolutely gorgeous this location is! Red Ledges in Diamond Fork Canyon is like a secret, golden vein of red rocks that you don't have to travel to Southern Utah to find. The variety within just a few minutes of driving is amazing too. We started out at the ledges then made our way to Three Forks Campground to get the bridge and the river. We ended the session in a beautiful field with tall grass as the sun got higher and started to warm us up.
Tim and Ashley are just the most beautiful kind of couple. I can't wait for their wedding in January and I look forward to watching them grow together for the rest of their lives. I hope you get as much joy looking that their photos as I did being with them and taking the photos!
